The University of Maryland Research Enterprise encompasses the premier, highly recognized research of the University of Maryland, which includes the Baltimore and College Park campuses. Building on complementary research strengths, administrative expertise, and state-of-the-art research facilities, the University of Maryland Research Enterprise aims to expand research impact in the State of Maryland and beyond. Since fiscal year 2012, UMB and UMCP have built an effective joint research proposal infrastructure that has streamlined shared proposal development and research administration. Before the alliance, joint research proposals were rare, but now submitted proposals total 1047, with resulting awards of nearly $340 million in new, joint research funding.
